Generative AI for Research(ers): Uses and Risks

Generative AI for Research(ers): Uses and Risks. March Research Data Management Community of Practice Online

This month we're turning our attention to Generative AI in research. This year it seems like every software application we use is building in AI tools, and new AI tools are popping up every week. These apps advertise the ability to make you more productive, more efficient, and even smarter. But is that really the case?

We know that alongside the monetary costs, there are environmental, societal, and data privacy concerns. Given the costs, is there a place for Generative AI in research?

Join us for a panel discussion on Thursday, March 26, 11 AM - 12 PM. Our panel includes researchers working with, teaching about, and doing research on GenAI; and McMaster's Special Advisor on Generative AI.
