Workshop 1: Filming docustyle interviews

Learn how to set up DSLR cameras, lavalier microphones, and tripods to capture documentary-style interview footage. This session will begin with a lesson on composition techniques, camera functions, and audio recording terminology, then go into a hands-on demonstration of capturing well-lit and thoughtfully composed interview footage. Participants will leave this session feeling camera-confident and equipped with new skills to record professional-looking footage for academic or personal projects.
This is a beginner-friendly workshop. No prior experience with cameras or microphones is required.
